Raynsway take a leap for Anthony Nolan
Raynsway Properties have invited their family and friends to experience an adrenaline packed zip slide at Rutland Water to raise funds for the Anthony Nolan Trust supporting people affected by Leukaemia. The event takes place on the 25th April at 11.00 am
The Anthony Nolan Trust, which works to provide bone marrow donors for leukaemia sufferers, has organised a mega 900ft zip-slide for Sunday 25th April 2010 between 9 am- 5 pm over the lake at Rutland Watersports Centre in Oakham.
Every 21 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with leukaemia or a related illness and for many people a bone marrow transplant is the only cure. Since its launch in 1974, The Anthony Nolan Trust has succeeded in saving over 5,000 people from the disease, and the money raised by “zip-sliders” will enable the Charity to maintain and expand the bone marrow register.
Carrie Potter, Marketing Assistant at Raynsway Properties comments, “The effort shown by Raynsway staff and their family and friends to reach the fundraising target has been outstanding, some of the staff will be having to battle with their fear of heights to take part on the day. We are steadily on the way to reaching the target and any help in reaching it will be greatly received”
Sharon King, regional fundraising manager for The Anthony Nolan Trust, says: "We’re really excited about this event. This is the first event of its kind in this area. “The scenery from the top of the crane across Rutland Water and surrounding areas are amazing and we are confident that the Rutland and Leicestershire folk will be keen to get involved in what we believe will be a brilliant event.”
